Uttar Pradesh Budget 2023: 20,000 jobs in 5 years – Investment target of Rs 10 lakh cr under UP Tourism Policy 2022

The Uttar Pradesh government presented the state’s annual budget for the financial year 2023-24 in the state Assembly. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna tabled the CM Yogi Adityanath government’s largest-ever budget and underscored the state’s growth is expected to be 19 per cent for 2023-24.
The minister further announced an investment target of Rs 10 lakh crore which would lead to the creation of 20,000 jobs in the next 5 years under UP Tourism Policy 2022. Additionally, the government has declared a provision of Rs 1,050 crore under Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana for financial year 2023-24 and Rs 4,032 crore for destitute widows.
A proposal of Rs 600 crore for Samuhik Vivah scheme for the marriage of all girls of all classes has also been announced in the UP Budget 2023. A budget provision of Rs 7,248 crore has also been proposed for old age and farmer pension scheme while another Rs 1,120 crore for Divyang Pension Yojana.
While presenting the Budget, the finance minister said that Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in housing construction, construction of toilets, establishment of micro, small and medium scale industries under PM Awas Yojana rural/urban, transfer of funds to beneficiaries through DBT through PFMS portal.
“Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, in the year 2022-2023, more than Rs 51,639.68 crore have been transferred directly to the bank accounts of farmers through DBT,” said Khanna. He also said that more than 19,000 MoUs worth about Rs 33.50 lakh crore were signed in Global Investors Summit 2023, he informed.
