Big blow for AUS! Star top-order batter ruled out of last 2 Tests against India due to injury

Australia are having a torrid time in their tour to India for the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy. They have already lost the first two matches of the 4-game Test Series, that too quite comprehensively. Adding salt to their wounds, the injury list for the team has also been ever increasing, and a star name has been added to this list on Tuesday, February 21.
David Warner, who suffered a fractured elbow during the second Test Match in Delhi, has now been ruled out of the remaining two Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He is now set to return home for further treatment. However, a Cricket Australia statement confirms that he is expected to return to India for the three-match ODI series.
David Warner was greeted with some stinging deliveries from India’s two pace bowlers, Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj. He was hit on the elbow twice, once from Shami and once from Siraj. After he was dismissed, he was evaluated to be not fit for playing the rest of the game, Matt Renshaw replaced him as the concussion substitute. Later, it was revealed that the star opening batsman had suffered a hairline fracture on his elbow.
David Warner has been ruled out of the Qantas test tour of India and will return home. Warner was struck on the elbow in the second Test in Delhi and sustained a hairline fracture. After further assessment, he will require a period of rehabilitation which will preclude any further involvement in the remainder of the Test series,” the statement from Cricket Australia read.
David Warner has not been in the best of form in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In the first Test Match at Nagpur, the left-handed opening batter registered scores of 1 and 10. In the only innings he played in the second Test Match, David Warner scored 15 runs. Thus, his tally in the three innings in the ongoing series is just 26 runs.
