Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is facing flak on Twitter once again! With the famed director praising the ‘most regressive movie’ Bakasuran, a number of netizens have expressed their displeasure over Anurag’s views.

Taking to Twitter, the Gangs of Wasseypur director wrote, “#Bakasuran Hearing good word of mouth for this movie in South…Congrats my friend @natty_nataraj & Dir @selvaraghavan,” which led to many netizens criticizing the famed director.
For the unversed, Mohan G’s directorial film Bakasuran has been facing a lot of backlash ever since its release. While the film attempts to address women’s rights and civil liberties, many feel it fails to do so. Being dubbed as a regressive film with a stance of progressive, the Kollywood film tends to reportedly focus on male perspectives on women’s rights.

Meanwhile, another wrote, “dear Anurag, you are one of the rare quality directors. kindly don’t promote regressive movies just because natty is your friend. he may be a good cinematographer. this movie is regressive.”
