After being discharged from the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, veteran actor and singer Annu Kapoor is back to work! Sharing that he had suffered from a heart attack, the veteran actor opened up about his health scare and his sense of responsibility to return to work.

For the unversed, veteran actor and singer Annu Kapoor had been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on January 26 after he complained of chest pain. Treated by the cardiology team at the well known hospital, the Jolly LLB 2 actor was discharged soon after. While it has been barely a month since he was discharged, Annu is back to work.
After attending the launch of his upcoming book’s cover at a literature festival in Delhi, the actor revealed that his chest pains were caused by a heart attack. “It was a heart attack. I am getting better, and now on the road to recovery. Things are looking better,” he said in a conversation with Hindustan Times.
The actor spoke about his decision to start working so soon. Talking about a sense of responsibility he felt, Annu said, “Yes, health is equally important, but also because we are one of those who have struggled and gotten ahead in life. Therefore work also is an essential part and reason for me to be back. For example, I have a weekly column I write for a newspaper, I know that is my responsibility. Similarly goes for my other commitments.”
Furthermore, he thanked everyone who prayed for his speedy recovery. “I am happy and grateful for the support from my fans and the industry. Main bauhaut abhaari hoon, I sincerely pay my gratitude to all the people who prayed, and didn’t pray for me,” he added.

Having made his debut in Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaala Patthar, Annu Kapoor managed to establish himself as an actor as well as a singer, director, radio disc jockey and television presenter. The veteran actor will be seen next in Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2, the spiritual sequel to 2019’s Dream Girl.
