‘Coward’ Veer Savarkar and MS Golwalkar were British agents: Congress leader BK Hariprasad

Karnataka Congress leader BK Hariprasad’s comment against Veer Savarkar and Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar is expected to raise the political temperatures and invite shar reactions from the Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Hariprasad described Savarkar as the biggest coward that the country has seen. He went on to say that Veer Savarkar and Golwalkar were British agent
The Congress leader accused the right-wing activists of killing rationalists Narendra DabholkarGovind Pansare and editor of the Kannada weekly Gauri Lankesh.
Narendra Dabholkar was shot dead by two persons in Pune on August 20, 2013.
Govind Pansare and his wife Uma Pansare were shot in Kolhapur on February 15, 2015.
Gauri Lankesh was shot dead on the night of September 5, 2017.
Golwalkar himself in his book – Bunch of Thoughts – has said that they don’t respect Tiranga or the Indian state. This is nothing new…what else should we call Savarkar who wrote mercy petitions and sought British pension…,Hariprasad said.
Several Congress leaders have been attacking freedom fighter Veer Savarkar.
In November 2022, a complaint was filed against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for allegedly making “derogatory remarks” against Savarkar during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Addressing a press conference in Maharashtra, Gandhi had alleged that Veer Savarkar betrayed M.K Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel by signing a letter of apology to the British before independence.
“Veer Savarkar, in a letter written to the British, said “Sir, I beg to remain your most obedient servant” and signed on it. Savarkar helped the British. He betrayed leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel by signing the letter out of fear,” he had said.
