Class actor Moses Koul who plays a bisexual character says NO ONE should be ‘ridiculed for wanting love’

Young and dapper Moses Koul is not new to the world of showbiz. While he may have debuted onscreen with the Netflix show Class – the Hindi adaptation of the hugely popular Spanish series Elite – Moses has already worked as a musician with Arijit Singh and the rapper Divine. The talented youngster essays the role of Sharan Gujral, a charismatic and affluent Delhite set for the Ivy leagues whose love for his classmate Koel leads him down a path of self-discovery that raises more questions than answering any.
While Elite is known for blurring the lines of societal gender disparity – a subject chronicled in Class as well – we asked Moses (who plays a bisexual character on the show) his views on the same. The actor says he does not think one should have a “particularly isolating view of anybody.”
To give more context, while Dhruv and Faruq are revealed to be gay early on in the series, Sharan (who identifies as bisexual) and his girlfriend Koel (Naina Bhan) get attracted to one the three new admissions – Balli (Cwaayal Singh). Now, opening up on his views on gender disparity, in an exclusive interaction with Times Now Digital, Moses says, “I think the whole idea is to not have a particularly isolating view of anybody. We have to start from a place of acceptance, of people, or at least differing point of views.”
He goes on to add, “There is a marked difference on how far we have come as a society in tackling sensitive issues regarding many different minority communities, which means that as a society we have the ability to change, develop and progress on ideologies that are allowed to bloom.”
“I genuinely feel they need to be given a space to talk and take centre stage in educating us, especially the privileged and safe on what the minorities’ struggles are, where we fail to meet them, and how we can be better allies. No one should feel ostracised and ridiculed for loving and wanting love,” Moses opines.
Moses on USP of Class
Further, talking about the USP of the show, Moses says Class is a “true gem” which offers a “little something for everyone.”
“At its core, it’s a gripping whodunit centered around young adults, but its rich subject matter runs deep and is masterfully layered throughout. And all of this complexity is wrapped up in an exciting package of thrilling action and pure entertainment, making for a viewing experience that is truly captivating,” the actor signs off.
