Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, who is extremely popular in Pakistan, recently started a show of his own. In one of the episodes, Akhtar’s guest witnessed a brain-fade moment as they could not answer a simple question.
Akhtar asked his guests, “In which year did Pakistan win the 1992 World Cup?” While one of the guests looked clueless, Akhtar repeated his question but the guests could not understand that the answer was hidden in the question itself.
As she tried to take help from the second guest, who told her the answer was 1992, Akhtar changed the question and asked, “In which year did Pakistan win the 2009 World Cup.” The guest immediately answered “1992” and took a few seconds before realising the question had been changed.
Pakistan won the 2009 World T20 by defeating Sri Lanka in the final under Younis Khan’s captaincy. In reply, Shahid Afridi record an unbeaten fifty as Pakistan successfully chased down the target in 18.4 overs.
Under Imran Khan’s captaincy, the Men in Green won its maiden World Cup title in the year 1992. In the summit clash against England, Pakistan scored 249 runs batting first. In reply, Graham Gooch & Co. were bowled out for 227 runs. Khan led from the front as he first scored 72 runs with the bat and went on to pick a wicket as well.
