Virat Kohli drops a sitter to give lifeline to David Warner; Rohit Sharma, Ashwin’s reaction goes viral

Virat Kohli’s horror show on the field continues on Day 3 of the first Test between India and Australia, which is currently underway at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. After giving lifelines to Steve Smith and Peter Handscomb in the first inning, for which he faced a lot of criticism from fans and experts like Mark Waugh, Kohli dropped another easy catch in the second inning to give Australian opening batter David Warner a reprieve. Warner was batting at one run from 13 balls when, during the fourth ball of the sixth over, Ashwin brilliantly set him up, but Kohli, who was at the slip, failed to complete the catch and help India get the second wicket in Australia’s second innings.
The ball kissed Kohli’s hand, but he rushed to complete the catch, as a result of which it slipped. As Kohli blew another chance for India to get a wicket, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and spinner Ashwin looked frustrated, and the video of their reaction has since gone viral on social media platforms.
Warner was unable to make the most of the lifeline and got out for 10 runs from 41 balls. On the second last ball of 14th over, Ashwin trapped him in front of the wickets to end his stay at the crease.
Kohli, who has completed 106 catches in 105 Test matches played so far, is one of the best fielders in the world, but his skills at the slip are up for debate. Before playing in the ongoing Test against the world’s No. 1 Test team, Australia, Virat played against Bangladesh, and in that red-ball assignment as well, he dropped multiple catches.
As far as the match is concerned, India is in complete control of the game. After dismissing the visitors for just 177 runs in the first innings, India made 400 in return and took a big 223-run lead. And then, in the second inning, thanks to Mohammed Shami, they struck as early as the second over itself to send Australian opener Usman Khawaja back to the pavilion.
