Mutual Funds: AMFI Jan 2023 data – SIP inflow at record high; how investors added money to AMCs

 Inflows in equity mutual funds surged in January 2023 as investors chose to add money in small, large and midcap funds amid market volatility. According to the latest data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), net investments in equity and equity-linked schemes increased a whopping 71 per cent to Rs 12,547 crore as against Rs 7,303 crore in December 2022.

AMFI data on SIP inflow at a record high of Rs 13,856 cr in January

“From December 15, FIIs started selling and corrections happened. So HNIs, domestic investors jumped in to buy. Corrections in a wide range of stocks meant that people felt that it is a good time to buy. Underlying this is the faith in the Indian economy, which was reinforned by the Budget and the economic data coming out,” Subramaniam told ET NOW.
