Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that the country does not have access to clean drinking water, even after 75 years of independence. CM KC Rao was speaking at a public meeting in Maharashtra’s Nanded. CM KC Rao said, “Even after 75 years of independence, many places in the country don’t have access to drinking water and water for irrigation.”
Telangana CM also said that Maharashtra sees the most number of farmer suicides in the country, news agency ANI reported.
As per reports, this is the first meeting of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi party outside Telangana. BRS chief – KCR previously informed reporters that several villages in the neighbouring state want to merge with Telangana because of his government’s welfare and development programmes, news agency PTI reported.
“Ab ki baar kisan sarkar” (This time, a government for farmers) is the slogan of BRS for the upcoming 2024 general elections. According to a report by PTI, BRS is expected to hold a public meeting on February 17 at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad. At the public meeting, several dignitaries have been invited. The list of dignitaries includes – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren, Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and Dr B R Ambedkar’s grandson Prakash Ambedkar.
