Budget presented in view of upcoming Assembly polls, there is nothing for poor: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge

 Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that Union Budget 2023 was presented by the Modi government in view of the upcoming assembly polls in 3-4 states. Mallikarjun Kharge also said that there is nothing in the budget for poor people.”
Mallikarjun Kharge said that the ruling government has failed to control inflation and the budget is not for common people. While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Mallikarjun Kharge said that the government has not taken any steps to give new jobs and they have failed to fill vacancies at existing government offices.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the four emphasis points of this budget are on empowering women, action plans for tourism, initiatives for Vishvakarmas (artisans) and green growth.
Nirmala Sitharaman also said that the new taxation regime is attractive as it gives greater rebates. While speaking to the media, she said, “The new taxation regime has now got greater incentives, and attractions so that people can unhesitatingly move from the old to the new. We are not compelling anyone. But the new one is now attractive as it gives greater rebates.”
This budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 is the Modi government’s 11th consecutive general budget, with an interim budget issued before the 2019 general elections. The budget presentation date was altered from February 28 to February 1 when the Modi government took office in 2014. Every year on February 1 at 11 am, it is now tabled in Parliament.
