Are MS Dhoni the most selfless and KL Rahul the most stylish players in Indian Premier League (IPL) history? A panel of IPL legends over the years, including Chris Gayle, Suresh Raina, Anil Kumble, Scott Styris, Robin Uthappa, Pragyan Ojha, Parthiv Patel, and RP Singh, answered unique questions in a rapid fire round on Jio Cinema while crowning the league’s best.
As the question of the most selfless player was asked, it goes without saying that Dhoni was the name that got the most recognition. In fact, all the panelists (Gayle, Raina, Kumble, Styris, Uthappa, Patel, Ojha, and Patel) had a common answer that was picked.
When it came to answering who the most stylish player in the league’s history was, it was KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma who emerged as a common favorite. While the likes of Gayle, Kumble, Uthappa, and Styris picked Rahul, Indian and Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma got Raina’s vote.
IPL 2023 upon us
The excitement for the 2023 season is building with the 16th season of the league just two months away. The league is likely to begin in the last week of March or the first week of April. Dhoni, Rahul, and Rohit will resume their leadership roles for the season with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Mumbai Indians (MI), respectively.
Dhoni and Rohit are the two most successful captains in the league’s history, having won the title four and five times, respectively. Rahul is yet to win the trophy with any team, even as a player. He previously led the Punjab Kings (PBKS ). He was part of the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore team that lost the 2016 final to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The 2023 season could be Dhoni’s last, having hinted at it at the end of the 2022 season. Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020.
