Bharat Jodo Yatra concludes: Check out the top quotes from Rahul Gandhi’s Srinagar speech

Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo yatra concluded on Monday. To mark the culmination of the yatra, a rally was organised where leaders of several national and regional parties shared the stage with Gandhi in a show of opposition strength. Notably, the rally was held amid snowfall and bone-chilling cold.
Speaking at the rally, the Congress leader lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He said that the rally was not organised for him or Congress but it was against the ideology that was destroying the foundation of the country. The Congress rally was held at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium. Congress president Mallikarjun Karge and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were also present at the rally.
  • “What is Kashmiryat? It’s the thought of shiv ji… on the other hand, in Islam it’s called fanaa. Thinking is the same.”
  • “The thought of Lord Shiva is Kashmiriyat, you can call it ‘Shunyata’. I have attacked my own thoughts and my pride.”
  • “Like phone call would’ve gone to Pulwama martyrs I also received a similar call when I was in America about my father’s assassination. People die in Kashmir, I understand what it feels when you get such phone calls.”
  • “Aim of this Yatra is to stop such phone calls to any son, father or mother. Be it a soldier or common man.”
  • “People of J&K didn’t give me hand grenade but love”
  • “I went from down (Kanyakumari) to up (Kashmir), I was thinking that earlier my ancestors came from up to down (Allahabad). When I was coming here (Jammu and Kashmir), I felt I was coming home. “
  • “You’ve walked in the rain and heat yet didn’t feel it as the strength of the nation was with you.”
Earlier on Sunday, Gandhi unfurled the national flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. The Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress party came to an end after over five months of travel on Monday. The foot march started from Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari on September 7, 2022. The Bharat Jodo Yatra covered approximately 4,000 kilometers from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
