Reacting to an Indian woman’s allegations against a Pakistani High Commissioner staffer, Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically stated that “there is zero tolerance for misbehaviour and mistreatment of individuals visiting our Missions”.
The Indian woman alleged that a Pakistani High Commissioner staffer had demanded sexual favours in lieu of granting her a visa.
In response to media queries regarding reports in sections of Indian media, the following is attributable to Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
“We attach high importance to proper etiquette and behavior towards all visa and consular applicants. All our diplomatic staff is under strict instructions to conduct themselves professionally.
While we are looking into this case, we are surprised at its timing and the manner in which it has been raised. There are robust mechanisms in place for redressal of all public grievances. There is zero tolerance for misbehaviour and mistreatment of individuals visiting our Missions”.
the woman claimed that the staffer at the Pakistan embassy held her hand and asked her if she was married. The woman also claimed that the Pakistan embassy staffer asked her what she does to fulfill her “sexual desire”.
According to the woman’s claims, the Pakistani High Commission official asked her to write articles against India, Kashmir and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
