Oscars 2023’s reminder list is out and Indian movies such as The Kashmir Files, RRR, Kantara and others have joined the race for the 95th Academy Awards. Interestingly, the Vivek Agnihotri directorial’s name in the list is indeed a proud moment for movie lovers as well as the makers of the film. The Kashmir Files actor Mithun Chakraborty recently shared his exclusive reaction with Times Now Digital after learning about his film’s latest achievement.

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty is extremely happy with the latest development about The Kashmir Files. While reacting to the Oscars 2023’s reminder list, Mithun Da said, “It feels great that Kashmir files has been shortlisted. It’s an answer to all the critiques. The jury who called the movie vulgar and propaganda has gotten the answer today. The people have liked the movie and that’s the response. I will not give any controversial statements. It hurts when the movie isn’t allowed in certain theatres but gets shortlisted for Oscar. Indian films have come a long way and I wish other shortlisted movies all the best.”
About The Kashmir Files
Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial venture, The Kashmir Files is centred around the 1990s exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Indian-administered Kashmir. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, Chinmay Mandlekar and others in key roles.
The Kashmir Files was released on March 11, 2022, and the film received mixed reviews from the masses. It was highly criticised by some sections of people who felt that the makers allegedly attempted to recast established history and propagating Islamophobia.
