‘Ram Rajya means…’: Congress takes a dig at Amit Shah’s Ram Mandir announcement

Days after Union Home Minister announced the date of the inauguration of the much-awaited Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Karnataka congress spokesperson Priyank Kharge slammed him and the Central government.
Reacting to the announcement, Priyank Kharge said that they should also set deadlines for filling job vacancies and getting the economy on track.
Priyank Kharge took to Twitter and wrote, “Good to know that Ram Mandir will be ready by Jan 1 next year. Requesting PM @narendramodi& HM @AmitShah to set deadlines not just for the temple but also for filling up Govt job vacancies & getting the economy on track. After all Ram Rajya means peace & prosperity for all.”
Earlier, AICC (All India Congress Committee) president Mallikarjun Kharge also hit out at Shah after he announced the inauguration date of Ram Temple. He said, “You are a politician not a pujari (priest)… your duty is to protect the country, providing the MSP (Minimum support Price) to farmers… and not make announcements on temple,” Kharge said amid the grand old party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Haryana’s Panipat.
Kharge also lashed out at BJP’s leadership and said, “They are the biggest liars. They came to power promising two crore jobs…but nobody has got jobs. They failed to pay Rs. 15 lakh.”

Ram Mandir inauguration in 2024

Last week, Amit Shah announced the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be ready by January 1, 2024. Coincidentally, Lok Sabha elections will be held in the same year. The Home Minister made the announcement while addressing a public rally in Tripura.
He also slammed Congress saying the party has been hindering the Ram Temple construction case in courts since independence and the Supreme Court’s verdict on the matter came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power.
“The Ram Temple issue was being stalled by the Congress ever since the independence. It was after when PM Modi came to power that the Supreme Court gave its verdict and the construction of the temple began following a ‘bhoomipujan’,” said Amit Shah.
Prime Minister Modi had performed the ‘bhoomi pujan’ for the construction of the temple on August 5, 2020.
