Even after fans waited for 4 years for SRK’s return, he gets massively trolled for Besharam Rang. Is it fair?

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is finally returning to the silver screen after a hiatus of four years. Fans have eagerly waited for him to make an announcement for his upcoming projects. And after a long wait, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make a smashing comeback with the three most-anticipated films of 2023 – Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan, Atlee’s Jawan, and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. I, a BIG fan of Shah Rukh Khan, was left in a rush of excitement when he first announced his films post the 2018 Aanand L Rai debacle Zero and was hoping for him to receive immense love from all corners of the nation – BUT – what he received is hate from a sectio of social media still stuck to their ‘orthodox mindset’ .

The faceless and nameless multitude did not think twice before calling out the song and finding offense in a ‘saffron’ bikini worn by Deepika Padukone. In fact, a section of trolls even felt offended over Shah Rukh’s printed green shirt, which he can be seen wearing in the song Besharam Rang. The stir over the first song of Pathaan is that it has been made with a ‘dirty mindset’, but I ask if the dirty mindset is of the makers or the people, who are making it sound ‘vulgar’?

IS THE OUTRAGE FAIR?
It amazes me to see how people are outraged about Pathaan’s song Besharam Rang and are leveling heavy allegations over the colours of the costumes worn by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. I totally disagree with the entire row. If you are really waiting for Shah Rukh Khan’s film after a long four years of wait, then why such hate? As an audience, we should be supporting Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and show some trust in him.
The more annoying fact is that the so-called activists are trying to make the entire controversy communal but is it fair to Shah Rukh Khan, who has entertained his audience and honoured Bollywood on various stages?
And hence, the boycott culture goes a level high with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. You ask how? Well, the same people who often trend Boycott culture on social media, have now alleged that the Hindi film industry is now including messages of communal disharmony. However, I feel their main grievance is that Bollywood is dumbing down its content. But the question here to ask is that can costume design be a propaganda tool. Is Bollywood that dumb or clever to use a song from the film to create controversy, intentionally? Well, I feel it cannot be both but who will make trolls understand this?
Then there are those who are calling Besharam Rang ‘distasteful’ because in their opinion Shah Rukh Khan’s character is “molesting” Deepika’s character in the song. So wrongly perceived! As far as my understanding goes, the song is trying to depict that the heart hasn’t seen my true colors – which is a very similar metaphor used for the immodesty of the heart.
Then why is Pathaan‘s Beshram Rang facing outrage when in the past, there have been music videos far more sensual, and at times with much more skin show? Trust me when I say this – even if Deepika wore a saree and hah Rukh Khan a kurta pyjama, the trolls must have found a reason to troll them and create a massive controversy.
And yet Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone remain unfazed!
