‘PM Modi tells half truth’: Asaduddin Owaisi targets Centre over India-China clash

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi  targetted Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government over the recent clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers along LAC in Tawang area of Arunachal Pradesh. Lashing out at the Central government, Owaisi alleged that PM Modi is not transparent over the issue and is telling half truth.
“There are reports that at least two clashes/face-off between India and China in Arunachal Pradesh but the government is not having a discussion and telling half-truths. Modi is not transparent (over the LAC issue). He tells half truth. The army is strong but government is weak,” Owaisi said.
The Opposition parties have been raising the issue in Parliament and staged a walk out after their demand for a debate was turned down. The Opposition demanded answers from the Centre and said that strict action be taken against China in view of the recent clashes.
“Why are you afraid to run debated in Parliament? At least call for an all-party meeting and listen to the Opposition. Why was the buffer zone created? The places we used to patrol, we cannot now,” he said.
“PM Modi is going and shaking hands with China. The government should allow a decision of Chinese forces to enter LaC. It was a false statement by PM that no one had entered the country,” he added.
This is not the first time that Owaisi has used tough language to target Centre over the India-China clash. Last week, he had made similar allegations, saying that the Central government is keeping the country in dark and facts are not being shared.
“The army is capable of giving a fitting reply to the Chinese at any time. It is the weak political leadership under Modi which has led to this humiliation against China. This needs an urgent discussion in Parliament. I will be giving an Adjournment motion tomorrow on this issue,” Owaisi had tweeted.

Opposition stages walk out

Earlier  ruckus was created in Rajya Sabha as the Opposition demanded a discussion on the recent Indo-China clash. The opposition jointly staged a walk out from Rajya Sabha after their demand to discuss the border situation along the Chinese side was rejected by the Chair. Several opposition MPs gave Suspension of Business Notices in the upper house to discuss the India-China border issue.
Reacting to the same, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar said, “It is very painful… Is it the way the Upper House should be conducting itself? I am a little surprised by the kind of body language and aggression I have to face.”
A face-off between Indian and Chinese troops in the Tawang sector in Arunachal Pradesh on December 9 led to minor injuries “to a few personnel” from both sides, a release said on Monday and noted that both sides immediately disengaged from the area.
