Besharam Rang Row: Protestors disrupt Shah Rukh Khan’s film shoot in Jabalpur, chant Hanuman Chalisa

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer Pathaan courted controversy ever since its first track Besharam Rang was released. Several politicians criticized the song and were fumed over the use of saffron costumes in the track. Now, the controversy has reached Jabalpur, where the shooting of one of Shah Rukh Khan’s films is ongoing in the tourist destination Bhedaghat.
SRK’s FILM SHOOTING DISRUPTED
According to the reports, the shooting of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Dunki, helmed by Rajkumar Hirani was going on when protestors disrupted the shoot. Fortunately, no big star cast including Shah Rukh Khan was present at the location. The shooting of the film has been going on for three days in Bhedaghat and Dhuandhar, famous tourist places in Jabalpur.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan’s body double was being used at the shoot location. The activists of Hindu organisation Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal reached Bhedaghat to protest against the film as soon as they got to know about the ongoing shooting.
Reportedly, police tried to stop protestors by barricading but angry activists who tried to break the barricade and fiercely pushed the police. They also raised slogans for hours and were seen chanting Hanuman Chalisa. However, CSP Priyanka Shukla said that the film is being shot in Bhedaghat after obtaining statutory permission from the collector.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have also submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar to protest against the shooting and even talked about the peaceful protest in Bhedaghat. The activists’ organisation stated that they will not allow any actor, who insults saffron, to shoot o the ‘Tapobhoomi of Narmada coast’.
BESHARAM RANG CONTROVERSY
BJP minister Narottam Mishra said that Besharam Rang reflected a “dirty mindset” and threatened that Pathaan may not be released in Madhya Pradesh. The Madhya Pradesh Ulema Board also raised objections to the release of the film in the state. President Syed Anas Ali of MP Ulema Board said that the sentiments of the Muslim community have been hurt and added that they will not allow this film to be released.
