Rs 60,000-crore gems and jewellery park coming up in Navi Mumbai: Devendra Fadnavis

One of the wšØš«š„šā€™š¬ š„ššš«š šžš¬š­Ā gšžš¦š¬ and jšžš°šžš„š„šžš«š² pššš«š¤Ā will be set up inĀ Navi MumbaiĀ at an investment of Rs 60,000 crore,Ā Maharashtra Deputy Chief MinisterĀ Devendra FadnavisĀ said on Wednesday.
Spread over 80 acres of land, this gšžš¦š¬ and jšžš°šžš„š„šžš«š² pššš«š¤ will be one-of-its-kind manufacturing to retail park and the largest such facility in the country, the minister said in a tweet.
ā€œSpread over more than 80 acre (25 acre in Phase 1), this will be one of the largest Gem andĀ JewelleryĀ parks in the World,ā€ he tweeted.
Fadnavis further said that a few days ago, a delegation ofĀ India Bullion & Jewellers AssociationĀ (IBJA) met him with a proposal of setting up a state of the art Gems & Jewellery Park in Navi Mumbai. The facility is expected to generate a total employment of over 1 lakh for both skilled and unskilled professionals.
ā€œThe park will generate direct and indirect employment for over 1,00,000 skilled and unskilled workers,ā€ he said.
The Maharashtra Deputy CM also said that he has directed ā€œall concerned departments to expedite the approval process for this most iconic project of this sectorā€.
