SS Rajamouli’s film RRR has bagged not one, but two nominations at the Golden Globes. The film, which stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles, bagged a nomination for Best Picture – Non-English Language as well as Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu. Now, RRR star Ram Charan has shared a shoutout for the filmmaker on social media.

Taking to Twitter, Ram Charan shared an image of the Golden Globe Awards nomination and wrote, “What a proud moment @ssrajamouli garu! Can’t wait to see you conquer world cinema Honoured that #RRRMovie bagged the Best Non-English Language Film and the Best Original Song nominations at the @goldenglobes awards! Congratulations team RRR!!

However, co-star Jr NTR beat him to announcing the news on social media. The celebrated actor had tweeted yesterday, “Delighted that #RRRMovie has been nominated in two categories at the Golden Globe Awards! Congratulations to all of us… Looking forward.
Alia Bhatt too had taken to her Instagram Stories to share the news,with multiple heart emojis.
SS Rajamouli too shared his happiness on Instagram, writing, “Thanks to the jury at @goldenglobes for nominating #RRRMovie in two categories. Congratulations to the entire team… Thanks to all the fans and audience for your unconditional love and support through out.”

However, this was not the only accolade that came RRR’s way on December 12. The film also managed to topple long-time top Indian film in Japan to became the new highest grosser. For the unversed, Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer RRR toppled Rajinikanth’s Muthu to become the highest grossing Indian film at the Japan box office.
The film released in Japan on October 21. The film was released in 209 screens and 31 Imax screens across 44 cities in Japan.
