‘Jhukega nahi s***’: Trinamool leader apologises for ‘Pushpa’ one-liner after backlash

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Manoj Tiwary stoked a controversy after he slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with the iconic “jhukega nahi s****” dialogue from the ‘Pushpa’ movie.
Taking a direct jibe at the BJP, Tiwary asked party followers and workers to remain united and challenged the opposition with direct remarks “Jhukega nahi s***”. Tiwary, who is Minister of State for Sports in the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal, made the remark while addressing a TMC rally on Sunday.
He directed the BJP workers to open their “ears” and listen to dialogues from the movie ‘Pushpa’. His remark invited backlash from the saffron camp.

Reacting to his jibe, BJP leader Umesh Rai said that his remark reflects his party’s character. The entire West Bengal government was like ‘Pushpa’ movie, he added.
“The entire West Bengal government is like the ‘Pushpa’ film. The Trinamool leader spoke in the same way in which a red sandalwood peddler publicly says ‘jhukega nahi s****’, Manoj Tiwary also said the same,” said Mr. Rai, BJP’s state secretary.
“The person who has exploited the rights of the youth of West Bengal, someone who has taken away the future of the youth in the state, rice thieves, the way this politician spoke and behave are similar to the red sandalwood smuggler. It depicts the real character of Trinamool,” he added.
As media persons questioned his take during the rally, he was seen apologising during the briefing. “I should not have spoken like that,” Manoj Tiwary apologised.
