Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu likely to be Himachal Pradesh chief Minister, announcement soon: Congress sources

Amid hectic lobbying by aspirants, sources suggest that senior party leader Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is likely to be the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. Sources further suggest that Congress party would formally to announce Sukhu’s name for CM post .
Reportedly, Rajiv Shukla, Congress observer for Himachal Pradesh, talked to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over naming the chief minister. It is reported that Kharge has sought approval for Sukhu’s name after deliberation from Gandhi family.
Sources also said that other Congress leader are also being informed about the party’s decision on naming the CM candidate.
Senior Congress leaders Rajiv Shukla and Bhupesh Baghel had been camping in the state to sort out differences over naming Himachal CM. Meanwhile, PTI, citing sources, said the new Himachal CM will take oath on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Congress chief Pratibha Singh’s supporters gathered outside Oberoi Cecil hotel in Shimla showcasing their support to her while stopping Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s carcade.
Congress wrested power from the BJP in Himachal after winning 40 of the 68 assembly seats. The voting was held on November 12 and the results were declared Thursday.
During a meeting on Friday, the Congress MLAs unanimously passed a resolution authorising the party president Mallikarjun Kharge to pick the legislature party leader, who will be the next chief minister.
Kharge earlier said the party observers sent to the hill state were seeking views of all party legislators individually and they would convey to him their opinions. Based on these opinions, the party would take a decision on the chief ministerial candidate, said Kharge.
