Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Ameya Khopkar, who is also a film producer, threatened to stall the possible release of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s Pakistani film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in India.
Khopkar claimed that an Indian company is planning to release ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in the country. The MNS leader said that if Raj Thackeray gives orders, they would ensure that the Pakistan actor’s film is not released in any part of India.
Ameya Khopkar slammed the fans of Fawad Khan and termed the people wanting the release of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in India as traitors and asked them to go to Pakistan and watch the film.
Reports are doing rounds that ‘The Legend Of Maula Jatt’, that released on October 13, 2022, and became the first Pakistani film to cross the Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office, is likely to be released in India.
The reports are doing rounds that the Fawad Khan-starrer may release on December 23.
After the Uri attack in 2016, there has been an unofficial ban on Pakistani films and actors.
Fawad Khan has a significant fan base in India and made his debut in Bollywood with film ‘Khoobsurat’ in 2014. He was praised for his performance in ‘Kapoor & Sons’ that released in 2016.
The Legend Of Maula Jatt is a remake of Pakistani classic film Maula Jatt. Besides Fawad Khan, it also stars Mahira Khan. It may be noted that Mahira Khan played Shah Rukh Khan’s wife in movie ‘Raees’.
