BCCI announce schedule for India’s home series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand & Australia; Delhi to host Test

After the conclusion of the ongoing away series against Bangladesh, the Indian team will take part in three back-to-back home assignments and will host the likes of Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia. The Indian team will first play three T20Is and as many ODIs against the Islanders and then host New Zealand for three ODIs and three T20Is.
After playing the limited-overs series, India will shift its focus to Test cricket and will host Australia in a four-match Test series. India last hosted a Border-Gavaskar series in 2017. The all-important red ball battle will start on February 9 and run until March 13.
And then the home assignments will end with a three-match ODI series against the five-time ODI World Cup winners. Since India is scheduled to host the ODI World Cup next year in October-November, the team’s focus will be more on the 50-over games.
The three T20Is against Sri Lanka will be played in Mumbai, Pune, and Rajkot on January 3, 5, and 7, before the action shifts to Guwahati, Kolkata, and Trivandrum for the ODIs on January 10, 12, and 15.

The New Zealand series will start on January 18 with Hyderabad scheduled to host the first ODI, and the remaining two matches will be played on January 21 and 24 in Raipur and Indore, respectively. The T20I matches between India and New Zealand will be hosted by Ranchi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad on January 27, 29, and February 1.

India will look to defend the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home, and the quest for it will start on February 9 in Nagpur. The second Test will take place in Delhi from February 17 to 21. The match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium will be the first Test since December 2–6, 2017.
The third game of the much-awaited Test series will take place in Dharamsala from March 1 to 5, and the final encounter will be staged in Ahmedabad from March 9 to 13.

India’s home assignment before the 2023 season of the IPL will conclude with a three-match ODI series against Pat Cummins & Co. And the matches will be held in Mumbai, Vizag, and Chennai on March 17, 19, and 22.
India recently suffered a 0-1 defeat in a three-match ODI series against New Zealand in an away series and would like to take revenge for it along with continuing their dominant run over Sri Lanka and Australia in home series.
