If any Hindu is targeted in Kashmir…Vivek Agnihotri warns days after Nadav Lapid’s TKF ‘vulgar’ tweet

The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri, earlier today, tweeted a ‘warning’ to Hindus amid the row over Israel filmmaker Nadav lapid’s “vulgar propaganda” comment on the controversial film. According to Agnihotri, The Resistance Front (an offshoot of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba) was being given ‘ideological support’ from a Government of India platform – which seemed like a veiled dig at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2022.
VIVEK AGNIHOTRI’S TWEET
Earlier today Vivek Agnihotri tweeted four images highlighting Nadav Lapid, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, a list of targeted Hindus in Kashmir and a tweet by Utzbat HaEsh.
Terming the first two images ‘Cause’ and the latter two as ‘Effect’, he wrote, “In less than a week, after Islamist terrorists were given ideological support openly from GOI’s platform #IFFI2022, The Resistance Front (a front of LeT) has issued a list of Kashmiri Hindus to be targeted by its terrorists. Pl save this tweet.”
In a subsequent tweet, he wrote, “If any Hindu is targeted in Kashmir after this, you know who has the blood on his/her hand. Pl save this tweet.”
The image of Lapid is from his speech at the film festival in Goa, while Mehbooba Mufti, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, had claimed that the BJP promoted the film to demonise Muslims, especially Kasmiris.
THE LAPID ROW
Award winning Israel filmmaker Nadav Lapid, who was the chairperson of the jury at IFFI 2022 landed in soup after he called The Kashmir Files a propaganda film that was vulgar and had no place at any film festival.
For the unversed, The Kashmir Files, by Agnihotri, which stars Anupam Kher in the lead role, portrays the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the valley following the massacare of people from the community by Pakistan-backed terrorists
The film released on March 11 this year and despite polarised reactions went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year at the box office.
