Brazil have started the World Cup in brilliant fashion, as they defeated their toughest opponents in the group stage, Serbia by a margin of 2-0 courtesy a brace from forward Richarlison. Brazil, who came into the tournament as one of the big favourites to lift the trophy, showed the world, why they have been given the tag as they displayed a brilliant quality of football. However, amidst all the positive signs, Brazil had a big reason to worry at the end of the game as their star man Neymar suffered an injury.
Neymar was forced to limp off with a swollen ankle and missed the last 10 minutes of the game against Serbia. However, the situation became even more worrying as it was declared that the PSG sensation would be out for Brazil’s remaining FIFA World Cup group games, and would likely return in the knockout stages.
Brazil head coach Tite has now provided a big relief to fans as he has said that he believes that Neymar, along with Danilo, will be fit enough to play the World Cup.
“I believe that Neymar and Danilo will play the World Cup. I believe in that. Medically, clinically, they can talk more about the stages of the treatment. [But] I have no place to talk. I trust that we will be able to use both of them,” the Brazillian head coach confirmed.
“He (Neymar) was injured, I didn’t see that he was injured, we didn’t have that information, I didn’t notice. The information didn’t come, it didn’t come, he tried to stay in the field, until he fell. At that moment, he was able to continue for the team, to participate in the goals,” continued Tite.
Brazil play their next group game against Switzerland on Monday, November 28 followed by their final group stage clash against Cameroon on November 3.
