BJP National General Secretary C T Ravi called the Congress leaders ‘namard’ (impotent) and mocked former Karnataka Chief Minister and leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah by addressing him ‘Siddramullah Khan’.
Speaking at the Karnataka BJP’s convention at Chikkamagaluru today, C T Ravi said, “If Siddramullah Khan comes to power, Hindu activists will be murdered. If Basavaraj Bommai comes to power, Hindu priests can offer pooja at Datta Jayanthi.”
The Datta Jayanti will be held between December 6 and 8.
Further targeting the Congress, he said, “They (Congress) should say, if they have power, we don’t want Hindu votes. Let them say, if they have power, we don’t want Hindu votes. Will they say? We should say, people who campaigned Hindu as a dirty word.”
“We won’t vote for such namards. Namards like you. We won’t vote,” he added.
Earlier in the day, a video went viral on social media where Siddaramaiah could be allegedly seen hesitating to sing ‘Vande Mataram’ during a press conference. The video shows DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah deciding on whether to start the briefing by reading the preamble or by singing ‘Vande Mataram’.
Someone suggested Siddaramaiah to sing ‘Vande Mataram’ before starting the event, but the former CM said that there is ‘no need of Vande Mataram’.
However, Siddaramaiah later clarified by saying, ‘sing Vande Mataram later if you want, or else then they’ll say I said no to Vande Mataram’.
