‘Should I go fall at his feet’? Mamata Banerjee takes aim at PM Modi, says Centre not giving funds to Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee  accused the central government of not disbursing funds for 100 days work, housing schemes and also Gram Sadak Yojana for the state. Taking aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Banerjee said, should she fall on his feet and ask for money.
“I have gone and met the prime minister. What is left now. Should I go and fall on hus feet now? You will take our money and then deprive us. What if we stop paying the tax?” Mamata Banerjee said while hitting out at PM Modi in Jhargram.
She accused the BJP of stopping the central funds for West Bengal.
Lambasting the central government, Banerjee said that it’s not that the Centre is doing any favour to anyone. It is taking all the money in the form of GST. We all states had agreed for that hoping that will benefit all. Now the condition is so bad for us. We are paying taxes for everything, but central government is taking the money, but it is denying us our constitutional right.
“To get the Central funds for the 100-day job scheme under MGNREGA scheme is our right. I personally met the Prime Minister and spoke to him in the matter. Will I have to touch his feet now? The Union government will have to pay our dues at any cost. Else the positions of power have to be vacated,” the chief minister said.
Further hitting out at the BJP-led central government, the TMC leader said the Centre has to pay the state governments or else they will have to leave the chair.
Stop GST if you can’t pay us. People won’t tolerate this. You can’t snatch our rights, Banerjee exhorted.
