Congress leader Rahul Gandhi ruled out any possibility of an alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Hitting out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the Wayanad MP opined that there was no difference between the KCR-led government and the BJP-led Central administration. The ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Telangana on Monday and is slated to reach Hyderabad .
“There is absolutely no question of any relationship between TRS and Congress. Telangana CM believes he is running a national party. He is welcome to think that he is running an international party,” Gandhi said during an address in Kothur.
He accused CM KCR of having failed to fulfill promises made to farmers, unemployed youth and other sections of people.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday accused the BJP of ‘trying to buy’ 20 or 30 MLAs of the ruling TRS and topple his government. He also claimed that ‘brokers’ from Delhi offered the sitting legislators Rs 100 crore each.
“Four sons of soil (MLAs) came with me (today for the meeting). Day before yesterday some Delhi brokers came to buy our Telangana self-respect and offered Rs 100 crore. But our sons of soil hit them with their left footwear saying they were not for sale,” the CM said.
As the Munugode bypoll nears, they newly renamed Bharat Rashtra Samithi is hoping it will be a stepping stone for success at the national level. The election is slated to be held on November 3 after contesting candidate K Rajagopal Reddy joined the BJP recently from Congress in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
