Ahead of Gujarat polls, Arvind Kejriwal launches ‘choose AAP’s CM face’ campaign

 Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal  launched a campaign to choose its chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Assembly elections in Gujarat.
The AAP chief issued a number – 635 7000 360 – for the people of the state to SMS/WhatsApp their choice for the party’s CM face. The party has also issued an email id – aapnocm@gmail.com.
The number will be active till 5 pm, on November 3 and the party will declare its chief ministerial candidate for the Gujarat elections on November 4.
“We want the people of Gujarat to tell us who should be the next chief minister. We are issuing a number and an email id. You can send your opinions on it until 5 pm on November 3. We will announce the result on November 4,” Kejriwal announced in Surat.
Elections to the 182-member Gujarat Legislative Assembly are slated to be held by the end of this year. However, the poll schedule is yet to be announced.
The AAP has positioned itself as the main contender to the ruling BJP in the state and its chief Arvind Kejriwal has been aggressively campaigning in the state, holding rallies and town halls and making a host of pre-poll promises of free electricity, better education and healthcare facilities.
