Soon after Rohit Sharma-led India complained of sub-standard food being served to them in Australia during the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took to social media to slam the authorities over their poor hospitality.
Sehwag, who doesn’t mince his words while sharing his views on major issues, said that gone were the days when western countries were known to offer better hospitality and stressed upon the fact that India is way ahead of them.
“Gone are the days when one used to think that the Western countries offer so good hospitality. India are way ahead of most western countries when it comes to providing hospitality of the highest standards,” Sehwag tweeted
Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) complained to the ICC about inadequate food for the Men in Blue following their practice session in Sydney.
“BCCI has told ICC that food provided after practice is inadequate. BCCI has further told ICC – How can you give cold sandwiches after 3 hours of practice for lunch? Sandwiches are not even made, players have to make their own sandwiches. This is not acceptable to us. Problem was in Melbourne and now Sydney. ICC had promised to look into it but hot food is the basic. Why wasn’t it looked at earlier?” top sources told Times Now.
Ahead of their next match against Netherlands, the Men in Blue had an optional practice session where all fast bowlers, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel were rested. The rest of the players hit the field to prepare for the upcoming contest.
