A criminal case was filed against Shah Rukh Khan for allegedly causing a stampede at the Vadodara railway station while promoting his film Raees in 2017. Earlier this year in April, the Gujarat High Court quashed the criminal case.
Now, in a relief to the actor, a Supreme Court bench, led by Justice Ajay Rastogi, has refused to interfere with the April 28, 2022 Gujarat High Court order quashing the criminal case.
When the incident took place, the actor, along with his production team, was travelling from Mumbai to Delhi to promote Raees.
The complainant, Mr Jitendra Madhubhai Solanki, had filed a private complaint against SRK before the Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Vadodara, alleging that his presence at the Vadodara railway station coupled with him throwing t-shirts and smiley balls at the crowd assembled at the station led to the alleged stampede.
Meanwhile, SRK has been making headlines constantly for his upcoming releases. The actor was recently seen in Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. He had a cameo in the movie.
Shah Rukh has teamed up with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham for Pathaan, which is being helmed by Siddharth Anand. The upcoming release has been backed by Yash Raj Films. It is set to hit the screens in January next year in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
Apart from this, the superstar has also collaborated up with Rajkumar Hirani for Dunki. The movie also stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. Dunki will hit the screens in December next year. Soon, the actor will also be seen sharing screen space with Nayanthara in Jawan, which is being helmed by Atlee. The upcoming release is slated to release in June 2023.
