Jhulan Goswami has been a name to reckon with in Indian Women’s cricket team since the last two decades. An impeccable bowler, she has to her credits, 353 international wickets and also tops the list by a margin the ODIs. Ahead of her last international appearance against England, Jhulan said, “When I started, I never thought about playing for sucha long time. It was a great experience that I’ve enjoyed and leartn from.”
Anushka Sharma, who is all set to take on Jhulan’s role in her upcoming film Chakda Xpress, has now lauded the cricketing star for doing what she has done for women’s cricket.
Anushka wrote, “An inspiration. A role-model. A legend. Your name will be etched in history forever. Thank you @jhulangoswami, for being a game changer in Indian Women’s Cricket.”
When the teaser of the film first came out, Anushka wrote, “It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. At a time when Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women’s cricket.”
As for Chakda Xpress, Anushka has been training hard for the upcoming Netflix film. Though an official release date is not announced just yet, fans have been excited about the movie given the actress keeps sharing glimpses of her practice sessions, among other things.
A while ago, husband Virat Kohli too, was all praise for Anushka as she prepped for the film.
