If you are looking to buy Diwali gifts for relatives and friends, keep some cash handy for next week as major e-commerce players such as Amazon and Flipkart will start their festive sale from September 23.
Amazon’s Great Indian Festival will begin on September 23 and continue for 28-29 days, and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2022 will last for a week.
“We will have 11 lakh sellers that will participate in the sale of which 2 lakh are local stores. We will be delivering to customers across all serviceable pin code. The big change this year is that it will be coming on the back of two years of pandemic. We are returning to things as usual,” Amazon India Vice-President Noor Patel told news agency PTI.
Amazon will give early access to Prime members before opening to the sale to others on September 23.
Amazon in a statement said “customers will get to experience more than 2000 new product launches and exciting offers across categories including Grocery, Fashion & Beauty, Smartphones, Large appliances & TVs, Consumer Electronics, and more from brands like Samsung, iQOO, LG, Xiaomi, Redmi, Tecno, BoAt, Biba, PUMA, Fastrack, Prestige, L’Oreal, Colgate, Aashirvaad and many more”.
Amazon will work with over 150 influencers to generate 600 live streams to enable the customers to make an informed purchase decision. The company said the live streams will carry live discounts during the sale which will last until 1 week before Diwali.

We will continue to maximise seller and partner success and provide the convenience of shopping in 8 regional languages along with English, while giving the option to also shop using voice. Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2022 will begin from September 23 until September 30, 2022. The Walmart-owned e-commerce platform said customers will have a chance to pre-book their products across categories such as beauty, general merchandise, home, electronics and lifestyle by paying Rs 1 as a token advance.
