Munawar Faruqui has been grabbing eyeballs ever since he lifted the winner’s trophy of Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp. The comedian defeated Payal Rohatgi, Anjali Arora, Shivam Sharma and Azma Fallah in a star-studded finale to win the reality show. From sharing his marriage secret to opening up about his mother’s suicide, the comedian had hogged all the limelight during his stint in the show show.
Munawar left the fans emotional when he talked about his mother’s struggle and how she ended her life by consuming acid. The talented artist, who is known for making the audience laugh with jokes, had cried when he spoke about his mother in Lock Upp.
The 30-year-old, while interacting with Siddharth Kanan, made a shocking revelation on the chat show. When asked if he ever struggled with suicidal thoughts, he replied in affirmative. He also recalled being ‘shaken’ after he got to know about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The comedian added that his hands were shaking for two-three days after he read about the untimely demise of the Bollywood actor.
“When I got to know about Sushant, 2-3 din tak haath kanp rahe the. Even today when I read or hear a similar news, or end up joking about it myself, after a minute I just go back there. And I realise what it takes,” Munawar told Siddharth.
He stated that there were many things that stopped him from doing anything when he had suicidal thoughts. ” When I had these thoughts in mind, the first thing that stopped me was that God doesn’t allow it, and the second is you see faces of your loved ones. When they hear the news, what will be their first reaction? Ruk jaa, mat kar,” he said.
On the professional front, Munawar Faruqui was recently seen in the song Khawab. He penned the lyrics, composed and crooned the song.
Munawar was supposed to participate in Khatron Ke Khiladi 12; however, he couldn’t go to South Africa due to passport issues.
