Telangana CM KCR meets Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav, calls for ‘BJP mukt Bharat’

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who visited Bihar  and met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, called for “BJP mukt Bharat”.
Addressing a press conference after meeting Kumar and Yadav, the Telangana CM, fondly called as KCR, blamed the BJP-led dispensation at the Centre for the many ills plaguing the country.
He attacked the Narendra Modi government over Rupee depreciation, farmers protest, unemployment and rising prices.
When asked to comment on who will lead a united opposition and whether the Congress will be taken on board during the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo tried to avoid the question.
Replying to the queries on prime ministerial candidate and the role of the Congress, KCR said, “these things will be decided in due course. We are in no hurry.”
The Telangana CM fondly called Nitish Kumar “bade bhai” (big brother).
He was also asked about whether the Janata Dal (United) leader could be considered as the prime ministerial candidate of the Opposition, to which KCR replied: “Nitish Kumar is among the senior-most and best leaders in the country. We will decide these things later.”
The TRS chief criticised the Modi government for implementing the ‘Agnipath’ scheme “without consulting any of the opposition parties”.
He also took aim at the BJP-led central government for “turning down” Bihar’s demand for special category status.
Earlier today, Kumar hit out at the Modi government and accused it of practising ‘excessive prachaar-prasaar’ (publicity) and alleged that it lacked the sensitivity towards the needs of the states.
Addressing a function in Patna alongside KCR, Kumar, who dumped the BJP earlier this month, heaped praise on his Telangana countrepart.
“Your adversaries speak a lot against you. Little do they realize what stuff you are made of. You were the one whose single-minded struggle led to the creation of Telangana. The people will never desert you,” Kumar said.
The Telanagana CM also handed over cheques of Rs 10 lakh each to five soldiers from Bihar who were martyred in the Galwan Valley clash. KCR also gave away cheques of Rs five lakh each to family members of 12 migrant labourers from Bihar who died in a fire in Hyderabad in March 2022.
