Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the countrymen’s participation in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign this Independence Day and asserted that it showed the collective might of the nation.
During his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi said, “In August, all your letters, messages and cards have soaked my office in hues of the tricolor. I have hardly come across any letter which does not carry tricolor or does not talk about the tricolor & Freedom.”
“People came up with different innovative ideas for the tricolor campaign. A Puzzle artist has created beautiful tricolor mosaic art in record time. Assam govt employees created 20 feet tricolor,” he added.
The Prime Minister went on to assert that colours of Amrit Mahotsav were seen not only in India, but also in other countries of the world. Local singers living in Botswana sang 75 patriotic songs to celebrate 75 years of India’s independence.
Talking about the Amrit Sarovars, he said, “You will remember, in #MannKiBaat , I had talked about #AmritSarovar four months ago. After that, local administration got active in different districts, voluntary organizations came together & local people connected, construction of Amrit Sarovars become mass movement.”
“#AmritSarovarAbhiyan not only solves many of our problems today; it is equally necessary for our coming generations. I urge all of you, especially my young friends, to actively participate in Amrit Sarovar campaign,” he added.
Shifting focus to poll-bound Himachal Pradesh, PM Modi said, “I received a letter from Ramesh ji, a listener of #MannKiBaat from Himachal Pradesh. He wrote that the settlements on the mountains might be far apart, but the hearts of the people are very close to each other.”
“Spiti is a tribal area. Here, these days, pea plucking goes on. This is a laborious and difficult task on hill farms. But here, the women of the village gather, and together, pluck peas from each other’s fields,” he said concluding his address.
