India and Pakistan will renew their on-field rivalry when they square off in their opening game of the 2022 Asia Cup. This will be their first meeting since the 2021 World Cup. A lot has changed since then and India have altered their approach in white-ball cricket now and they now go for big hits right from ball 1.
While the matches between the two teams are always high-intensity clashes, the mood in both camps seems to be quite jovial. Many videos have surfaced of Indian cricketers interacting with their counterparts.
As India and Pakistan gear up for the much-awaited fixture set to take place on Sunday (August 28), here’s a look at few pictures that you need to see before their Asia Cup match –
Virat meets Babar Azam
For the first time since the 2021 T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli met Babar Azam when the two reached the Dubai stadium. They shook hands and had big smiles on their face.
A day before the fixture, the Pakistan Cricket Board took to Twitter to share a video of Rohit Sharna asking Babar to get married. Rohit will lead India as the full-time captain for the first time in the Asian tournament.
Even though Shaheen Afridi isn’t available for Asia Cup, he is travelling with the team and is a confirmed selection for the 2022 T20 World Cup. The left-arm pacer met Kohli recently and told him that they are praying for him to return to form.
