Former actor and current fitness fanatic Milind Soman recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He shared a picture of himself on Wednesday with the PM from the Prime Minister’s Office in Delhi. The actor also stated that he met PM Modi after the completion of his most recent “unity run,” and the two discussed their “mutual interest in ancient Indian traditions of sport, health, and fitness.”
Milind took to Twitter and wrote, “Was so happy to meet Hon PM @narendramodi at @PMOIndia after the #UnityRun and discover a mutual interest in ancient Indian traditions of sport, health and fitness. I thanked him for all he is doing to promote yoga and Ayurveda across the country.” The actor sported a maroon jacket with blue jeans and paired it with slippers.
Milind was referring to his 450-kilometer, barefoot trek from Jhansi to Delhi, which he called the “unity run.” In order to “celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence,” Milind undertook the run. On Independence Day, he began from Jhansi Fort and finished close to Red Fort in Delhi a week later. The yearly run’s second iteration was this one.
Milind had already stated in a statement about the marathon, “What better way to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav than the Unity Run spreading the message of unity, peace, and harmony. The Unity Run 2022 is a tribute to the 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements.”
Talking about his career, early in the 1990s, Milind began his modeling career. He also made appearances in music videos, most notably Alisha Chinai’s Made in India. Additionally, he has appeared in a number of movies, such as 16 December, Rules, Bheja Fry, and Bajirao Mastani. His most recent appearance was as a cameo in Masaba Masaba 2.
