Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor’s much-hyped film Shamshera, which was released in theatres in July this year, failed to impress the audience. The YRF-backed movie, also starring Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, turned out to be one of the biggest flops of the post-pandemic era. Made on a massive budget of over Rs 150 crores, the film barely collected Rs 48 crore at the box office.
After leaving the audience and critics disappointed, the period drama started streaming online. It is now available to watch on a streaming platform and fresh Shamshera reviews have been surfacing online over the last few days.
Meanwhile, a scene from the film is grabbing attention online for the wrong reason. The high-octane action sequence featuring Vaani shows her protecting a baby. A closer look reveals that there’s no doll in the actress’s hand, just a towel.
After the clip went viral, several netizens trolled producer Aditya Chopra and took jibes at the makers. A comment read, “And then the cast and crew and fanboys will write cute long essays on how misunderstood #Shamshera is and how the audience is unnecessarily critical.”
Another netizen chimed in, “They make crap movies and then wonder why audience is rejecting their movies #Ranbir #YRF #sanjaydutt #Shamshera Also, the director and supporting actor #sanjaydutt even came out in support for this movie.”
