‘It is a real thing’: Carlo Ancelotti confirms Casemiro will leave Real Madrid amid Manchester United links

After being on the bottom of the Premier League table after losing their first two games against Brighton and Brentford, Manchester United have been pretty active on the closing weeks of the summer 2022 transfer window to bolster their squad. They have already seemed to secure their first signing since the defeat by sealing the deal for Real Madrid’s defensive midfielder Casemiro.
Though the deal has been mostly rumours and speculations from several media outlets, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has all but confirmed that the Casemiro is definitely on his way out of the club in the press conference ahead of their game against Celta Vigo on Sunday. He said that he had a chat with the Brazillian who has expressed the fact that he wants to try a new challenge.
“I heard about rumours about Casemiro but I ignored. Yesterday I realised it was a real thing. My plans won’t change,” Ancelotti said. “I’ve talked to Casemiro. He wants to try a new challenge — we have to respect his desire. We didn’t try to convince him to stay. I listened to his desire. I respect him.,” the Real Madrid manager said in the press conference.
Ancelotti also said that the negotiations are ongoing and there is still no official statement on when he would complete the move out of Real Madrid. He also confirmed that Casemiro will not feature for the team against Celta Vigo.
“Casemiro will not play tomorrow. There are negotiations, nothing is official, but his will to leave is clear,” he added.
Carlo Ancelotti has said that Casemiro’s departure will not affect the team much as they have already signed his replacement in the form of Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer. “We already have Casemiro’s replacement. We have signed Tchouaméni and he’s one of the best on the market. Then we have Kroos and Camavinga,” the manager added.
It is believed that Manchester United are paying a fee of approximately €70 million to Real Madrid to sign the Brazillian superstar. Casemiro was an integral part of the Real Madrid midfield alongside Toni Kroos and Luka Modric that won five Champions League titles in the past nine seasons.
