Things have gone downhill for Raju Srivastava’s family once again as the comedian’s health deteriorated last night, making his condition critical.
Fellow comedian and close friend Sunil Pal provided the latest update on Raju’s condition. Taking to Instagram, he shared a heart-wrenching video where he was seen getting emotional while informing that his brain has stopped functioning and doctors are unable to do anything at present.
According to the reports, his blood pressure levels, now stabilised, dropped at an alarming rate yesterday. Judging by his overall condition, Dr. Padma Srivastava, a top neurologist has been called over to take the case.
The doctor, who was earlier present in Kolkata is currently on a flight to Delhi. Kushal, Raju’s nephew confirmed the news while saying, “We are hoping and praying for a miracle. Yes, Dr. Padma Srivastava is flying to Delhi from Kolkata, she should be here by this evening. As we speak, Raju ji’s condition has become very critical.”
With the present situation looking extremely grim, Raju Srivastava’s family has been allotted a room in the hospital to accommodate his relatives.
According to Kushal, former Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan is frequently keeping in touch with the doctors in AIIMS overlooking the comedian’s case. He engaged in a meeting with the medical team an hour ago and has also been in touch with his family.
Until now, Raju’s close friends from the entertainment fraternity, Shekhar Suman and Sunil Pal have given constant health updates on social media. India’s Laughter Champion‘s judge took to Twitter yesterday (August 17) where he mentioned the stand-up comedian’s health condition to be stable and would recover by next week.
Earlier, Raju’s manager, Nayan Soni had shared an update on the comedian positively responding to the treatment. “There is an improvement in his health and he can now move his body parts a bit. He continues to remain in the ICU and on ventilator. Doctors have informed that it will take about a week for him to regain consciousness.” he told PTI.
After having a heart attack on August 10 while exercising at the gym, Raju was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. The same day, he had an angioplasty.
