‘Unfurl national flag at your homes’: PM Modi urges people to join ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement this Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  called upon the people of the country to join the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement by unfurling a national flag at their houses this Independence Day.
During the 91st edition of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’, PM Modi first paid homage to Shaheed Udham Singh Ji, who sacrificed his life for the country, and then expressed happiness on seeingh ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ becoming a mass movement.
He then announced that under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, between August 13 to August 15, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement will be held.
“You should become a part of this movement and unfurl the national flag atop your home,” PM Modi urged the people of the country
The Prime Minister also confirmed that an interesting endeavour called the ‘Azadi Ki Railgadi Aur Railway Station’ will be rolling out soon. The objective of this initiative is to make people aware of the historic role of the Indian Railways in the freedom struggle, he added.
“Biggest message that emerges from all these events being organised in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is that all of us countrymen should follow our duty with full devotion,” said PM Modi.
Earlier in the 90th issue of his monthly ‘Mann ki Baat,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled the dark chapter in India’s history, the Emergency, which was imposed in 1975, and stated that it was our democratic mindset that ultimately prevailed.
He also praised all those who stood up to the Emergency and stated that people did not lose faith in democracy even after it ended.
