Ranveer Singh’s recent nude photoshoot has raised several eyebrows. Though the Cirkus actor looked very comfortable and confident in his own skin in the photos, some sections of people in the society apparently found it ‘offensive’ and went a step ahead. An NGO which goes by the name Shyam Mangaram Foundation filed a complaint against Ranveer Singh.
An FIR has been registered against the Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani actor under IPC section 292 (obscenity, sale or exhibiting publicly material for sale), section 293 (sale of obscene objects to young persons), and section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of women).
Well, a number of celebrities have extended and come out in support of Ranveer Singh in his nude photoshoot controversy. It is now The Kapil Sharma Show fame Sumona Chakravarti who has extended her support towards the Band Baaja Baaraat actor and reacted to the FIR registered against him with a strong note on womanhood.
Sumona wrote, “I am a WOMAN. Neither is my modesty insulted nor my sentiments hurt.”
She also shared her mother’s reaction to Ranveer’s nude photoshoot and posted a screenshot of her chat with her mother. The message from Sumona’s mother read, “Pics were great! God knows which sentiment got hurt! Maybe they wanted to see more!!”
Sumona wrote while sharing the post, “This is what my mother – also a WOMAN had to say!”
Meanwhile, in their complaint, the NGO accused Ranveer of “hurting the sentiments of women at large”. A part of their complaint read, “Last week we saw many nude photographs were clicked in such a manner that any make or female will feel ashamed about it.” It further adds, “These kinds of acts should be opposed strongly, as it is not being opposed then second and third rank actors will also follow the same path for getting cheap publicity which will result in a worst condition.”
Speaking on the professional front, Ranveer Singh will be next seen featuring in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Cirkus and in the official Bollywood remake of Anniyan, reportedly.
