No Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo union? Man Utd star offers himself to PSG, gets rejected: Report

Cristiano Ronaldo’s hunt for a new club isn’t going smooth at all. Despite being labelled ‘not for sale’ by Manchester United, the Portuguese continues to be linked with new clubs. As per the latest rumous, Ronaldo offered himself to Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldo has been linked with a number of clubs since the start of the summer transfer window. His agent Jorge Mendes reportedly held talks with German giants Bayern Munich, Serie A side AS Roma as well as Chelsea in the Premier League. While Bayern rejected the proposal to sign him, no final decision has been made as far as his potential switch to Chelsea and Roma are concerned.
Adding another club to the wishlist, Ronaldo is said to have spoken to PSG, a club that his arch-rival Lionel Messi plays for, over a transfer but was turned down.
According to Le Parisien, Mendes got in touch with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and sporting advisor Luis Campos regarding a potential deal for Ronaldo. The Ligue 1 champions, however, clarified that they are not interested in signing the 37-year-old.
Ronaldo being offered to clubs despite being labelled ‘not for sale’
Only a few days ago, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that he is planning the new season with Ronaldo and isn’t going to allow the player to join a new club this summer.
“He’s not with us and it’s due to personal issues,” Ten Hag had said at a media conference on Monday.
“We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that’s it. I’m looking forward to working with him. I have read [that he wants to leave], but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together.
“I spoke with him before this issue came up, I had a conversation with him and I had a good talk. That is between Cristiano and me, what I can confirm is we had a really good conversation together.”
Ronaldo had only joined the 20-time England champions last year but had a disappointing outing at Old Trafford. Though he scored 24 goals across all competitions, United only managed to secure a 6th-place finish in the Premier League. It was the first time in years that Ronaldo had gone trophy-less in an entire season.
Having been unimpressed with Manchester United’s transfer activities in the summer window so far, Ronaldo is keen to revive his career at a club where he can challenge for major honours. However, his hunt does look a tricky one, especially considering his salary demands and age.
