Shiv Sena hasn’t extended support to Droupadi Murmu, yet to take a decision on Presidential elections: NCP’s Chhagan Bhujbal

National Congress Party (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbal  rebuffed rumours suggesting Shiv Sena has decided to support NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu.
Bhujbal said Shiv Sena is yet to take a decision on who to support in the upcoming Presidential elections.
While speaking to media, he said, “Till now, Shiv Sena hasn’t extended its support to anyone regarding the Presidential elections. It is yet to make the final decision.”
“It is clear that Shiv Sena is definitely working towards strengthening the party. When such a large number of people leave the party, then efforts have to be made at the ground level and Uddhav ji is doing so,” added the NCP leader.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde has announced that MLAs from his faction will vote for Murmu on July 18.
“We will fully support Droupadi Murmu for the Presidential elections. All our MLAs will vote for her under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi,” confirmed Shinde.
Earlier today, reports surfaced suggesting Shiv Sena may support NDA’s candidate Draupadi Murmu and not the non-BJP Opposition’s nominee, Yashwant Sinha.
Shiv Sena MP and chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut indicated this while interacting with the media, saying party President Uddhav Thackeray will announce his decision in a day or so.
“Backing Murmu does not mean supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party. The decision will be taken keeping in view the public sentiments,” Raut made it clear, amid a clamour from its former saffron ally to toe its (BJP) line.
Yesterday, Shiv Sena said that Thackeray had discussed the Presidential polls issue and other matters in detail at a meeting of most Sena MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha besides some other top leaders
