He likes to intimidate me on the court: Novak Djokovic on son Stefan’s love for tennis

Novak Djokovic, who has 20 Majors to his name, is also blessed with two children. His seven-year-old son Stefan is quite fond of tennis and several videos also surfaced online where Djokovic was seen playing with Stefan on the court.
Talking about the swing of his son’s racquet, the former World No. 1 said he was trying to teach him to finish the swing over the shoulder.
“He likes to intimidate me on the court, finishing the swing here (over the shoulder). He knows I don’t like that particularly. I’m trying to teach him to finish the swing over the shoulder. Whenever he does that he always laughs because he knows. We have these kinds of funny moments on the court,” Djokovic was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
Djokovic went on to add that he never forced his son to be on the tennis court and he has got a liking for the sport on his own.
“It’s his own desire to really pursue tennis. I’m going to be there for him. I never force him to be on the tennis court, but if he wants it, I try to always make myself ready to be there and play with him. I will support him in any possible way I can so that he can be a professional tennis player if he really wants to,” he added.
Eyeing a seventh Wimbledon title, Djokovic defeated Dutch wild card Tim van Rijthoven 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 on Centre Court to secure a quarterfinal berth at SW19. He will now take on 10th seed Jannik Sinner of Italy.
Djokovic did not feature in the Australian Open 2022 due to his stand on the vaccine for Covid-19. He lost to Rafael Nadal in the quarter-final of the French Open 2022. The Serb is looking to win his first Grand Slam of the year at Wimbledon – where he is a three-time defending champion.
