Money Heist Korea reveals Tokyo grooving to BTS’ DNA, has fans whipped for the character

The wait is over! Netflix has finally unveiled the first episode of Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area and fans across the world couldn’t wait any longer to see what the episode had in store for them.
A Korean remake of the 2017 hit Spanish series – La Casa de Papel, Money Heist Korea received a lot of attention after news of its production came intotoht.
Fans of the original series were eagerly waiting to know how the story would pan out during the show and how the new actors portraying the infamous Professor and his gang of bandits pull off a heist in the middle of a North-South reunification.
In the episode, actor Jeon Jong-seo who plays the iconic role of Tokyo in the series is shown entering a building while BTS’ DNA plays faintly in the background. The music becomes clearer once she wears her headphones and is seen grooving to the song on the stairs.
Her voiceover plays along the visuals saying “Fans of K-pop group BTS are called ARMY”. She soon snaps to reality once people start climbing up the stairs. The voiceover continues with “They have members all over the world.” Tokyo is met by stares and glances as people walk past her.
She hurriedly steps out of the building while the voiceover continues with “Of course, there are ARMYs in North Korea too.” An establishing shot reveals the building to be Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) Kim Il-Sung University.
In the next scene she is shown in her room, still vibing to the song. The voiceover says “It was second nature for me. Since I was a kid I ‘ve secretly watched K-dramas, and I’ve always listened to K-pop.”
The music abruptly stops with the rattle of her doorknob which then opens to reveal a lady checking on Tokyo, who is now sitting on her desk to study.
The voiceover begins as the door closes.”But there’ll always be one thing that sets me apart from the other ARMYs.” A marching band sound is heard after which the voice says “I had to join the real army”
