Days after pro-Khalistan slogans were found written on walls near Jalandhar Shakti Peeth, Devi Talab Mandir in Jalandhar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that everyone involved will be nabbed.
When asked about the increase in incidents of Khalistan posters appearing in the state, the CM said it’s all politics because some are still wondering how a teacher’s son became the CM and ran the state government effectively.
He also reacted to the ongoing protests against the Union government’s ‘Agnipath’ scheme saying we can’t keep soldiers on rent.
“How can we make them ex-soldiers merely at age of 21? They protect country in harsh conditions. Politicians never retire it’s only soldiers, public who retire. We don’t need military on rent. Agnipath scheme must be taken back,” the Punjab CM said.
Earlier, Mann had said a list of those who looted the state is ready and they will be held accountable.
“Some have been sent behind bars, many more are in the waiting. Lists are ready. Those who looted the state will be held accountable. I just need some time,” he said during a roadshow in Bhadaur.
Opposition parties have slammed the AAP-led Punjab government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state following singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala’s murder, Patiala violence and Mohali RPG attack.
Responding to this, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal said that the state has now got an honest government and that gangsters were born in the state under previous governments.
The Delhi CM said that no one can protect gangsters and anti-national elements.
Lauding the state government, Kejriwal said that Patiala clashes accused were caught within 24 hours.
The AAP-led Punjab government in the last three months has achieved tasks that previous governments could not achieve despite years of being in power, he added.
